Knoppix is quite a fascinating Linux Distribution.
It's a single bootable CD, with 1.8g of compressed data on it. The entire distribution runs soley off the cdrom, not touching your harddisk at all. The CD also includes some of the best automatic hardware detection I've seen which gets everything running in KDE immediately. A perfect demo disk, and rescue CD.
the CD contains KDE (and GNOME?), heaps of software, (OpenOffice.org,Mozilla,etc)
I highly recommend you download and try a copy, you'll be surprised.
