Opera is the self-proclaimed fastest WebBrowser on the planet. Comes in many flavours, including a Linux version, and is gratis, though not Free.
I suspect their claim has to do with things like gestures and speed of use. Also speed of loading the app and opening new windows. —NathanWard
I think it also refers to its HTML rendering engine, which is very fast. —

Of course, I doubt they can compete with Dillo on any terms, unless they add a bunch of qualifiers to that “fastest” clause. —AristotlePagaltzis
