MicrosoftExcel is a SpreadSheet that borrowed most of its features and functionality from SpreadSheets prior to it, such as Lotus 123. (Were you expecting anything else from a MicrosoftCorporation product?)

If you get a SpreadSheet in .xls FileFormat, you can open it with OpenOffice or Gnumeric.
