A DataBase by itself is very little use without the supporting infrastructure of management tools, converters, a shell, etc. The combination of a RelationalDataBase along with all the tools required to operate it is called an RDBMS. Examples include Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix, Borland Interbase, FireBird and IBM DB2.
