This page is intended to hold user experiences of running [MicrosoftWindows] apps under [Wine] and [Cedega]. ! General/Links to more info [Frank's Corner|http://www.frankscorner.org/] is an incredible resource. Check it out for information on running all those difficult applications such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, [MicrosoftOffice] and Nero. [http://lhl.linuxgames.com/howto/half-life-HOWTO-0.5.html] is a useful guide as to how to get Half-life working with [Cedega] (even though it says [Wine]). ! Problems after upgrade/change of [Wine] version After installing [Cedega] (I already had [Debian]'s [Wine] installed), things (such as sound and graphics) mis-behaved. I found that moving [Wine]'s registry files (~/.wine/system.reg and ~/.wine/user.reg) out of the way and letting the new version re-create them fixed the problems, although I needed to re-initialise any apps. ---- !Games which work with [Cedega] I've managed to get the following games working straight out of the box with no troubles: *Half-Life/Counter-Strike *Soldier of Fortune *Star Trek Elite Forces Others which didn't work (I don't know why): *Unreal 2 *Unreal Tournament 2003 ( has native Linux support ) *Warcraft III ---- CategoryNotes
