If you're trying to sync your USB Palm using gnome-pilot, but you keep getting errors, like "gpilotd has quit unexpectedly" and other such rubbish, the solution is probably that you need to have /proc/bus/usb mounted. Do this by enabling "USB device filesystem" in your kernel config under USB, and using "mount -t usbfs none /proc/bus/usb" to mount it. You might want to put this in your fstab(5). gnome-pilot is a steaming pile of horse shit.
