The fundamental unit of organisation in the OpenSource community.

A collection of individuals, usually coordinated by a MailingList or WebSite and usually focused on SourceCode but sometimes on an interface or documentation. An OpenSourceProject has vision, which may or may not be explicitly stated. If conflicts arise over the vision of a project it may [Fork], large OpenSourceProject~s may also have subprojects (for example the [Apache] OpenSourceProject has many subprojects). OpenSourceProject~s are often indistinguishable from the product of their colloration.

Most OpenSourceProject~s aim to be:

OpenSourceProject~s include [Apache], [MySQL], [SSH], [OpenSSH], [GPG], [Minix], [Linux] and [GCC].
