1 StuartYeates 1 NetworkIsolation refers to an effect in which two parts of a network are seperated from each other and local connections still work fine but connections to non-local machines fail.

3 To users NetworkIsolation often appears as a complete loss of internet connection, particular to those user used to connecting to widely known remote hosts ([Google], [Yahoo]) as a matter of course. An [IRC] NetSplit is also a species of NetworkIsolation.
