[MagicPoint | http://www.mew.org/mgp/] is an [X11] based presentation program whose presentation file format is a plain text format similar to [HTML]. We've recently done a series of presentations (the UnixTutorials) using MagicPoint. !!Pros * Plain text file format can be created in any editor * Can shell out and run any commands, and display output (text or graphics) as part of slide * Good HTML output (thumbnails) !!Cons * Not WYSIWYG - really bad for a presentation program * Graphic placement ability appalling * Can't do tables MagicPoint is not a drop in replacement for Microsoft's !PowerPoint. If you'd like one, try out OpenOffice Impress.
