An [Acronym] for MainDistributionFrame or __M__edium __D__ensity __F__ibreboard. The latter is a wood based composite panel. It is made using fine wood fibres bonded under heat and pressure with an adhesive. Great for making inexpensive computer furniture! Ironically, a piece of (or pieces of depending on size) medium density fibreboard is typically used as the backing board for a MainDistributionFrame.
