DigitalConvergence describes the idea that many types of electronic devices will eventually merge into a single type, because they are distinct only due to technological limits. Indeed, this trend is becoming apparent among cell phones, [DigitalCamera]s and [PDA]s. Another group with increasing overlap and diminishing distinctions seems to be computers and home audio and video equipment (see MythTv, f.ex). |
