Penguin

Conectiva was a Brazillian Linux distribution, founded by ArnaldoMelo in 1995. It wa based on RedHatLinux, with a major focus was on multi-lingual Linux - particularly in Porteguese.

One of Conectiva's contributions to the Linux work was porting apt-get(8) to work with RPMs: see AptForRpm.

In 2004, it merged with Mandrake, and is now part of Mandriva.
