__DESCRIPTION__ |
20 |
21 |
22 |
sftp is an interactive file transfer program, similar to |
23 |
ftp(1), which performs all operations over an |
24 |
encrypted ssh(1) transport. It may also use many |
25 |
features of ssh, such as public key authentication and |
26 |
compression. sftp connects and logs into the specified host, |
27 |
then enters an interactive command mode. |
28 |
29 |
30 |
The second usage format will retrieve files automatically if a non-interactive authentication method is used; otherwise it will do so after successful interactive authentication. |
31 |
32 |
33 |
The last usage format allows the sftp client to start in a |
34 |
remote directory. |
35 |
36 |
37 |
The options are as follows: |
38 |
-1 Specify the use of protocol version 1. |
39 |
40 |
41 |
-b batchfileBatch mode reads a series of commands from an inputbatchfile instead of '' stdin''. Since it lacks userinteraction it should be used in conjunction withnon-interactive authentication. sftp will abort ifany of the following commands fail: get, put, rename,ln, rm, mkdir, chdir, lchdir and lmkdir.-CEnables compression (via ssh's -C flag).-F ssh_configSpecifies an alternative per-user configuration filefor ssh. This option is directly passed to ssh(1). |
42 |
43 |
44 |
-o ssh_option |
45 |
Can be used to pass options to ssh in the format used in the |
46 |
ssh(1) configuration file. This is useful for |
47 |
specifying options for which there is no separate sftp |
48 |
command-line flag. For example, to specify an alternate port |
49 |
use: sftp -oPort=24. |
50 |
51 |
52 |
-s subsystem | sftp_server |
53 |
Specifies the SSH2 subsystem or the path for an sftp server |
54 |
on the remote host. A path is useful for using sftp over |
55 |
protocol version 1, or when the remote sshd does not have an |
56 |
sftp subsystem config- ured. |
57 |
58 |
59 |
-S program |
60 |
Name of the program to use for the encrypted connec- tion. |
61 |
The program must understand ssh(1) |
62 |
options. |
63 |
64 |
65 |
-v |
66 |
Raise logging level. This option is also passed to |
67 |
ssh. |
68 |
69 |
70 |
__INTERACTIVE COMMANDS__ |
71 |
72 |
73 |
Once in interactive mode, sftp understands a set of commands |
74 |
similar to those of ftp(1). Commands are case |
75 |
insensitive and pathnames may be enclosed in quotes if they |
76 |
contain spaces. |
77 |
