System: Mandrake 5.3 (Kernel 2.2.10) I already had Qt 1.44 installed from source. (lib in /usr/lib/libqt.so.1.44 with appropriate links) 1) Untar qt-2.0.1.tar.gz in /usr/local 1a) if you already have qt installed here, then leave the direc- tory as "qt-2.0.1", else rename it to "qt" 2) Set environment variables in your .login as per the INSTALL file and re-login. 3) Do ./configure (you probably want to add -gif for gif support) 4) then make 5) When you're finished, libqt.so.2.0.1 and it's appropriate links will be in /usr/local/qt/lib (or /usr/local/qt-2.0.1/lib) 6) as root, edit /etc/ld.so.conf and add the directory from step 5 to the file. 7) while still root, run ldconfig -- now we try to compile LICQ -- 1) untar licq-0.70g-0.65.tar.gz somewhere (/usr/src is a good place) 2) cd into the licq directory, and then to plugins, and then to qt-gui-0.65. 3) Now this is the important part: do "./configure --with-x --with-qt-libraries=/usr/local/qt-2.0.1/lib --with-qt-in- clides=/usr/local/qt-2.0.1/include" 4) do make, this /should/ build successfully. If not, then there's probably something wrong with your compiler setup. 5) when this finshes then do make install. 6) now "./configure; make" for the LICQ daemon. 7) and make install That should be it. 14 steps, nothing too tough. Hope that helps some of you. --Mark ------------------------------------------------- The LICQ list.
