Have a look at /etc/kbd/config if you need to setup a specific font at boot-time. The kernel's builtin keymap is saved in /var/lib/kbd/ before loading a new one on boot. This saved keymap is used by kbdconfig when it feels it needs to restore a working keymap. This saved keymap is deleted on reboot/halt to cope with changes in the builtin keymap. This is done by the /etc/init.d/keymaps.sh script. `showfont' has been renamed `shfont' because there is a showfont program provided by the xcontrib package. The Agafari ethiopic fonts were not included because it's a bit unclear whether they should be distributed. Please use Goha or GohaClassic if you want the Ethiopic script. See /usr/kbd/doc/README.Ethiopic for details.
