Galeon in Debian
----------------

Hidden Options:
---------------
There are hidden options you can use to further customize galeon.
The configuration menu already is kind of full, so do check
README.ExtraPrefs and maybe skim through the gconf schema with
gconf-editor. That way you can for example fake the user agent.

Server Mode:
------------
Galeon has a server-mode (start with "-s -e 0") which will cause galeon to
run invisible. Great for adding it to your gnome-session, so you get much
faster galeon launches later on.

Antialiasing:
-------------
Mozilla decided to change their AA support in 0.9.9 Galeon 1.2.0 was released
shortly after this change, so the developers were not able to support Mozilla's
new Freetype Rendering.
If you enable it in /etc/mozilla/prefs.js it will work though, and when
you do not select default fonts within galeon, but copy these settings
from mozilla's pref.js to ~/.galeon/mozilla/galeon/prefs.js you can get
Antialiased Default Fonts in Galeon as well.

Bypass-Proxy-Reload:
--------------------
This option (right mouse button on reload icon) does NOT disable the proxy
for a single reload, but does force reloading the page in your cache,
proxy, or both. It might get renamed sometime...

Searching for whole words only:
-------------------------------
Mozilla does provide this option on the embedding interface, but it seems to be
not yet implemented in mozilla's own code.

Upgrades:
---------
If you experience problems with galeon, but have been using it
since a pre-1.0 version it is very likely that you suffer from
stale configuration files from either galeon or mozilla.

Make a backup of your bookmarks (~/.galeon/bookmarks.*)
and use the "galeon-config-tool --clean" function to purge your
galeon configuration. This has helped in many many cases.
You might rarley have to slay your oafd, too. (use oaf-slay)

Nautilus Support:
-----------------
A nautilus-enabled package is available named "galeon-nautilus".
To use it, view a html page in nautilus and choose the last option
(View as...) - galeon should be in the list of available viewers, but
disabled by default.
Note that the nautilus view will not work when you havn't used galeon yet
or even when galeon is not running at the moment. It should work best when
you are running galeon anyway. (for example in server mode.)

Stylesheet for myportal: page
-----------------------------
Don't edit the system-wide myportal.css, but just make a copy of it to your
~/.galeon directory and edit this copy.
