qt-x11 for Debian ---------------------- You should not need to set QTDIR anymore...but if you do use QTDIR=/usr/share/qt All Qt includes are in /usr/include/qt All Qt libraries are in /usr/lib All Qt binaries are in /usr/bin Documentation is in /usr/share/doc/qt-doc Everything else will end up in /usr/share/qt If you plan on building any of the examples or tutorial bits, you'll need to set QTDIR=/usr/share/qt in order for them to compile. If you need to link to the GL version you must do "-lqt-gl" instead of "-lqt". You also need to make sure you link to "-lqt-gl" before any KDE libraries or other libraries that link to "-lqt". I've also compressed the tutorial and the examples to save space. Just find a place and tar -zxvf them. You can enable XFT support (Anti Aliasing) by setting the QT_XFT environmental variable. export QT_XFT=1 (this turns it on) export QT_XFT=0 (this turns it off) this will only help you out for any apps that are run within that environment. If you run the KDE window manager, this will most likely not do you much good. You would be better off turning on AA support within the Styles configuration. AA support is disabled by default as it's relativly new and still has a lot of work to go. -- Ivan E. Moore II <rkrusty@debian.org>, Wed, 13 Dec 2000 14:41:38 -0700
