Ncurses for Debian

The ncurses package is split into six parts:

libncursesThe ncurses shared libraries
libncurses-devDevelopment environment
libncurses-dbgDebugging libraries

ncurses-binVarious small applications (clear, reset, tic, etc.)
ncurses-baseA minimal set of terminal entries
ncurses-termAll the rest of the terminal entries

All debian systems should have libncurses, ncurses-bin, and ncurses-base
installed. The -dev and -dbg packages are only useful for developers wishing
to compile programs which use ncurses. ncurses-term is the full contents
of the terminfo database, and includes many strange and obsolete terminals.
The vast majority of users will do just fine with the ncurses-base set.
