licq for Debian GNU/Linux
licq for Debian GNU/Linux
=========================

In general upgrading LICQ from a previous version breaks the
configuration files horribly. Be sure to read the UPGRADE notes in
the /usr/share/doc/licq directory.

If you are using a plugin package other than licq-plugin-qt2, you will
need to either edit your ~/.licq/licq.conf file to specify which one
you want to start with, or start licq with the option "-p
<pluginname>", i.e. if you were using the licq-plugin-forwarder
package, but not the qt2 package, start licq with "licq -p forwarder".

Some people have been reporting problems with the Qt2 plugin
segfaulting some of the time when attempting to double-click on a name
to send a message. This appears to be a problem with the version of
libqt2.2 currently in Debian "woody" (it doesn't happen at all with
2.2.1-0, and inconsistently with other versions). Currently, the only
work-around if it starts happening is to right-click and select send,
instead of double-clicking.
