3 Hi Bruce
4
5 I came across your details in the Computer & Internet directory and
6 thought I'd be really cheeky and send you an email on the off-chance
7 you may be interested in helping us reach the masses in the
8 Waikato/BOP region.
9
10 We are a recently formed association (see
11 http://www.womenintechnology.co.nz/) set up to provide forums and networking
12 for Women in the IT industry. We've had 2 meetings in Auckland and
13 Wellington which were really successful and our first launch in
14 Hamilton (in association with Waikato Inst. of Technology) next week.
15 Our list of contacts in Waikato/BOP is quite light so just wondering
16 if there is a possibility to promote this through your group -
17 Waikato Linux Users Group? Males are of course not out of bounds to
18 attend, in fact our biggest supporter at Wintec is Barry Ogilvie (fin
19 & planning mgr) who contacted us initially.
20
3 CraigBox 21 We have Heather !McEwen speaking who has a company in Cambridge called
1 PerryLorier 22 Xenacom Computer Solutions - I've attached details of the invite etc.
23
24 My colleague and founder of WIT is Carol Lee Davidson who has a full
25 time role with Oracle NZ as Technology Manager so is no stranger to
26 open-source and linux. We would be happy to work out a way to work
27 with your group to return the favour in terms of doing a presentation
28 to your group relevant to a topic of interest from one of the
29 technical gurus in Carol Lees' team.
30
31 I look forward to hearing your thoughts?
32
33 regards
34

42 .. and their web site is 'best viewed in IE' too; If we're going to have any kind of association with this organisation I'd like to see them using open standards first!! - zcat
