The current media playing program shipped with many versions of Windows. In it's current incarnation WindowsMediaPlayer is a program able to play music, video, and others in many formats, from many sources. There is a SDK available for it, has plugin support, and some odd security features in release 9 ragarding the copying of music to disk.
