Acronym for Wired Equivilency Protection

or something. It's supposed to make using wireless as secure as using wired connections. In practise it takes your network from 'stupidly easy' to enter, to 'easy' to enter. the WEP protocol is reasonably broken. Don't rely on it (but then again, it's better than nothing -- but only just).
