Acronym for __V__irtual __P__rivate __S__erver An OperatingSystem (often [Linux] or [Solaris]) set up to appear to be a server when it's actaully a VirtualMachine, a useful tool for [ISP]s and other 3rd party server providers. RimuHosting runs Linux [VPS]'s The [Kernel] RandomNumberGenerator (/dev/random) should not be trusted on a [VPS], because while it thinks it's looking at real network timing information, the underlying OperatingSystem also has full access to the same information.
