A NameServer that is authoritative for a domain, but not the PrimaryNameServer for that domain, typically getting its copy of the ZoneFile for the domain via a ZoneTransfer from the PrimaryNameServer.
Ideally the SecondaryNameServer should be physically seperate from the PrimaryNameServer to provide real redundancy in the case of the PrimaryNameServer failing.
