SGI are well known for their really nifty machines with very pretty graphics. Much of this has eroded of late now that Intel machines have got stupidly advanced graphics cards.

+[SGI] have also donated their file system ([XFS]) to the OpenSource community and have nice patches for [Linux] for this. Hopefully they should be merged soon?
