Programming Python

O'Reilly
ISBN:0596009259
(or in wlug's library for WLUG members)

This book is a monster of a book at over 1500 pages and if you don't know more about Python after this then there's something wrong with you!

The book is in tutorial style, rather than as a reference guide.

The book is broken into seven sections - the beginning, system programming, GUI programming, Internet programming, tools and techniques, integration, the end.

I didn't read the whole book as it is quite large, but what I did read was very thorough and quite helpful. The book is aimed at an audience that understands technology and has done some programming before (or is smart enough to work it out).

I would highly recommend this book for people wanting to learn about Python or who want to learn new areas of Python.
