A site that concentrates an ISP's or TelCo's communications equipment for a certain area; as opposed to a location that they just redirect to somewhere else where they have a PoP. Eg, there may be one PoP in Hamilton servicing the entire Waikato region.
The more PoPs an ISP operates, the better the likelihood for subscribers to be able to reach one of them with a local telephone call.
