Penguin

Planner is an open source project scheduling tool. It was previously known as MrProject.

Planner helps project managers to create project schedules, and to plan who should be assigned which tasks.

Among its important features are:

  • Definition of tasks with start/end dates and durations
  • Dependancies between tasks
  • Creation of Sub-tasks
  • Assignment of resources to tasks
  • Project schedules stored in XML format.

Planner is included in most major Linux distributions.
