In 1990 Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) renamed their OperatingSystem VMS to OpenVMS. OpenVMS AXP 1.0 was released in 1992.

According the DIGITAL Computing Timeline (http://research.microsoft.com/~gbell/digital/timeline/1990-5.htm) OpenVMS supports POSIX standards.
