An [Acronym] for __N__etwork __A__ddress __T__ranslation NAT is an evil thing that changes [IP]'s as they travel through a gateway. This is often used in the special case of "Masquading" where multiple machines "masquarade" as one IP address, since you have several machines trying to use one internet connection and the [ISP] only gave you one [IP] address.
