(Rodney Hide, right, with MozillaFirefox lead developer, Ben Goodger.)

Rodney Hide, ACT party leader, on OpenSource.

LitB.G.02, TheUniversityOfWaikato. NOTE LATE TIME: 8pm

Questions for Rodney at this meeting:

  • Do you think that companies should be provided with tax credits (similar to imputation) in relation to software development costs for software that is officially released as OSS?
  • Do you believe that the government should only provide public funding to software development ventures that release their source code under some compliant OSS license?
  • Please explain your comment, referring to Microsoft: "Monopoly is invariably a government product - not a market one."
  • As a liberal, you champion the freedoms of the individual against big government. Does this philosophy extend to big business in a monopolistic situation?
