There is a traditional tension between [Management] and [Geek]s in general and LinuxGeeks in particular. In the first case this is an instance of a more general problem--managers (who control the money / resources), manage (i.e. herd) a specialist group, paying little or no attention to the specialism except in so far as it can be used to generate more money / resources. This is exasperated in the case of LinuxGeeks, because the [Linux] approach explicitly repudiates many of the principles that conventional [Management] holds dear. In particular, open and honest communication with a broach range of organisations and given rights away free of charge can cause problems.
