Summary

This book is called a cook book as it serves up recipes for many of the most common tasks.

I have found it great for dealing with things as diverse as kernel compiles, package management, Linux documentation and boot loaders.

This book also covers a multitude of other tasks that I would probably use at sometime in the future e.g Apache, DVD recording, run levels etc.

This book is useful for the intermediate to experienced Linux user. In theory there is nothing here that you can't find using Google but it is nice to have it all in one place. The book is not an "Idiot's guide to Linux" - it assumes you know what you want to do but don't know how to do it.

Thoroughly recommended - I went out and bought a copy with my own money!
