Line Noise is the static hiss of the collected noise and interference on a channel. It can manifest itself as electric fence spikes preventing you from getting anywhere near 56k out in the country. It can be the hiss you hear out of your overpriced amplifier because you're feeding it with a nasty computer sound card. Line Noise is a part of a signal that does not convey information. |
