KHTML is the HTML component developed by the KDE project. KHTML is a very featureful implementation of HTML (And related such as javascript) standards. It's a lot lighter than Gecko, mostly because it doesn't strive to implement as many of the features that Gecko does.

KHTML is also used by Apple's "WebKit?" which Safari uses to render webpages.
