The ability of a system, application or program to operate with another, even if they do not natively "speak the same language". Successful InterOperability is commonly based on StandardsCompliant communication. In the [Linux] world, InterOperability normally refers to the ability for [Linux] users to interact with non-[Linux] (most commonly MicrosoftWindows and [MacOSX]) users.
