Based on the automate script for new Hoary users, I propose on all Hoary installations at the Installfest, we do:

These lines in /etc/apt/sources.list:

# beagle / mono
deb http://manno.name/debian/ hoary main

# win32 codecs
deb http://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ stable main
deb http://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ unstable main
deb http://ftp.nerim.net/debian-marillat/ testing main

# java
deb http://ubuntu.tower-net.de/ubuntu/ hoary java

This /etc/apt/preferences:

Package: *
Pin: release o=Christian Marillat
Pin-Priority: 1

And then install these things:

Flash
flashplayer-mozilla
Java
sun-j2re1.5
Mono
f-spot tomboy
Audio/Video
gstreamer0.8-mad gstreamer0.8-ffmpeg w32codecs libdvdcss2 (possibly totem/xine?)
Fonts
msttcorefonts
Acrobat Reader
acroread=7.0-0sarge0.9 mozilla-acroread and/or evince
CD Writing
gnomebaker
FTP
gftp
Skype
?
Beagle
beagle (drags in lots of -dev, use sparingly)

Footnote

To legally and properly install Java 1.5:

Download jre-1_5_0_03-linux-i586.bin from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/download.jsp

% sudo apt-get install java-package fakeroot
% fakeroot make-jpkg jre-1_5_0_03-linux-i586.bin
% sudo dpkg -i (output file)

And then to link the plugin...

% sudo ln -s /usr/lib/j2re1.5-sun/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/
