Recent Changes

SGI's Unix OperatingSystem which runs on all their MIPS based systems. Its XFS fileystem has been ported to Linux by SGI.

Notable features include:

  • a clustering filesystem (CXFS)
  • nice volume managers (XLV, XVM)
  • insane scalability (1024-way machines)
  • a sane package manager (unlike Solaris)
