[Acronym] for __G__eneral __P__acket __R__adio __S__ervice This is how VodaFone provide [IP] connectivity over their cellphone network. the number to dial for GPRS is "*99#" The default APN (Access Point) for VodaFone is www.vodafone.net.nz, this however is on their internal network (has an IP address in the private range) and will not let [VPN] ([PPTP]) connections through. If you wish to use a VPN you will need to change your connection profile to use an [APN] that provides a public IP address. Vodafone suggest changing the connection profile to connect to web.vodafone.net.nz Compare [CDMA]
