[Acronym] for __G__eneral __P__acket __R__adio __S__ervice This is how VodaFone provide [IP] connectivity over their cellphone network. the number to dial for GPRS is "*99#" The default APN (Access Point) for VodaFone is www.vodafone.net.nz, this however is on their internal network (has an IP address in the private range) and will not let VPN (PPTP) connections through. If you wish to use a VPN you will need to change your connection profile to use an APN that provides a public IP address.
