| A fedora is a type of hat. 1? | RedHat's red hat is a fedora. | So is this man's hat. | fedora.jpg | redhat_fedora.jpg | indy.jpg

The Fedora Linux Project was a community project "dedicated to building high-quality, 3rd party RPMs, for the RedHatLinux distribution. Our goal is to facilitate easy package installation through automatic update methods such as apt and yum, while at the same time maintaining first rate security procedures."

I like to think of myself as relatively prophetic:

With the emergence of the RedHatLinuxProject, Fedora will probably be rolled into RedHatLinux - chances are its standards will be used as the basis for the new community. In the meantime, they package a lot of stuff that RedHat won't, can't, or didn't.

And, oh, wait, look!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Red Hat Linux Project is merging with the Fedora Linux Project, and the resulting combined project will be named the Fedora Project.

There we go. :)

All our information on the new RedHatLinux is available at FedoraProject; the Fedora Linux Project still have their old web site up at http://www.fedora.us/ 1?

1? They're cool for using a .us domain instead of an international one and then claiming that America == The World, like NetworkSolutions once did.
