Fedora also was a community project to build high-quality 3rd party RPMs for RedHatLinux. They packaged a lot of stuff that RedHat wouldn't, couldn't, or didn't. CraigBox predicted that it would be rolled into RedHatLinux with the emergence of the RedHatLinuxProject, and its standards used as the basis for the new community, and indeed, the RedHatLinuxProject merged with the Fedora Linux Project to become the FedoraProject.
