[FHSS] is an [Acronym] for __F__requency __H__opping __S__pread __S__pectrum. FHSS is a SpreadSpectrum method of transmitting signals, by rapidly switching a carrier among many frequency channels, using a pseudorandom sequence known to both transmitter and receiver. FHSS was used in the original [802.11] standard, but was replaced with [DSSS]. It is also used in other common wireless technologies such as BlueTooth, 2.4GHz DECT cordless telephones, and HomeRF.
