A bulletin board (or BBS) was a piece of software that would run on someones modem-connected computer that you could dial up and connect to, participate in message discussions, download files, email other users, play online ("door") games, etc. These all predate the Internet by several years.

Lots of people involved with Linux (and the WaikatoLinuxUsersGroup) are old BBS people?

OliverJones (sysop of TheDigitalDream), PerryLorier, DanielLawson, JonPurvis, KyleCarter, MattCairns, CraigBox (sysop of ToontownBbs?), GreigMcGill (sysop of EchoesBbs), PaulMacDonald (Wellington scene) are all BBS old timers, who else is? zcat(1), sysop of Cherrybomb (and later Cherrybomb Voicemail)

We already have a Link for Toontown, one of the classic Hamilton BBS?'s.
