His first big break came when him and friend Paul Allen wrote a [BASIC] interpreter for the first personal computer, the Altair. Microsoft then was contracted to write an operating system for [IBM]. They licensed the operating system that later became [MS-DOS]. From there we got MicrosoftWindows, MicrosoftOffice and eventually the Department of Justice case against them.
