Adobe Systems Incorporated. Inventors of PostScript, and PDF amongst other things. Also responsible for alot of programs relating to press work (Newspapers and magazines etc):

  • AdobePhotoshop, widely considered the best image editing application ever made
  • Adobe Illustrator, a vector graphics package
  • Pagemaker
  • InDesign (Pagemaker++)
  • Acrobat (Not the free reader)

They now also make a number of programs for developing websites, digital media applications and document workflow solutions.

As of November 2004, news reports say Adobe are hiring Linux staff (GTK experience required), have joined the OSDL and have pledged at least to update their Acrobat Reader to v6 on Linux.
