Acronym for ATA over Ethernet
Similar in concept and purpose to iSCSI, ATAoE is designed to be a lower-cost, lower-impact technology. Designed by coraid, who also make ATAoE hardware in the form of 10 disk PATA shelves and 15 disk SATA shelves.
