Twisted pair ethernet. Uses a star configuration, where each client node (computer) connects to a central hub with one cable. As such, damage to any one cable only affects that computer - the rest of the LAN is still operational.

10BaseT can be run over Category 3 cable (8 wires, 4 pairs, telephone-quality Twisted Pair cable), or much more commonly Category 5 cable. (The infamous "Cat-5").
