Commonly called Gigabit Ethernet, or just !GigE.

1000BaseT is a standard Ethernet which operates at 1,000,000,000 bits per second (1Gbit/s) over a maximum cable run of 100m (using copper wires).

GigE hardware is also commonly available which uses fibre-optic cable at a wavelength of 850nm.
